New Outlook Layout - How do I add more columns (Size of Mail) to the inbox?

I am now using Outlook for Mac, version 16.79.3 (23120117) and am extremely surprised by the new layout, which is missing various information / settings.

For example, how do I add additional columns (such as Size of Mail) to the Inbox?

I also wanted to switch back to the old version. -> Legacy Outlook. But after the switch I have to enter all email accounts again. However, when entering the account under IMAP, the "Next" button is highlighted in light grey and cannot be pressed. Email accounts can therefore not be entered.

Hello Stefan, I will be happy to help you with your question, I am a Microsoft consumer and Independent Advisors who cannot access accounts. The new Outlook for Windows brings the latest features, intelligent assisted capabilities and a new modern and simplified design to your Outlook app. Concerning the issue you are experiencing with the layout of the columns in the new Outlook application, you can change the layout of the application to your desired taste. Kindly follow the steps below to achieve this: 1. Launch the Outlook application. 2. Click on the View tab >> View Settings 3. From the View settings page, Select layout. On layout options, you can choose the way you want your inbox to be displayed. I hope this helps. However, to switch back to the old outlook application, please check the steps in the Official Microsoft documentation below: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/the-new-outlook-for-mac-6283be54-e74d-434e-babb-b70cefc77439#:~:text=How%20to%20switch%20back%20to%20Legacy%20Outlook Thank you for the kind understanding.

It appears that your goal was to reply to the question instead of answering the question. We would like to be able to expect a higher level of effort from Microsoft advisors. Your answer just wastes time when you don't try to answer the actual question that is answered.

Yes, the new version of Outlook is so much worse than the old version!

My suggestion to EVERYONE is to use the Support option in the New Outlook to lodge your complaints. Maybe if enough people complain they will actually fix things!

Right now they're saying they will fix this in the next version and who knows how long that could take!

Same here, old outlook isn't syncing anymore and only the new version works. It feels like going from an advanced app that enables you back to 'windows live mail for dummies'. Not being able to manage the columns and the fonts of the view (senders are in a huge font compared to others) makes this a big no-no.

    Hello Stefan,

To change the Mailbox appearance on MAC,

    1. Open Outlook and click Outlook > Preferences from the menu bar.
    2. Select Reading.
    3. At the top, choose the Display density. You can pick Comfortable, Medium, or Compact.
    4. Next, select your preferred Message list view options. You can show a preview, the sender’s image, and group the headers.
    5. If you like a Focused Inbox, check the box for that next. Then your messages will be sorted into Focused and Other.
    6. Finally, mark the options you want to use for Conversations. You can group emails into conversations and have them automatically expand when selected.

The steps above " I pulled from the Microsoft documentation: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/customize-views-in-outlook-for-mac-257d7104-5c90-4ee3-bad2-9935ab424c64"

    I hope this helps.
