Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hi Dena,
Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconveniences,
To fix this issue, you can try the following methods:
- Update your outlook.com account password in Outlook 2013. To do this, go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings. Select your outlook.com account and click Change. Enter your new password and click Next. Click Finish and restart Outlook 2013.
- Use an app password for your outlook.com account in Outlook 2013. To do this, go to your outlook.com account settings and select Security > Advanced security options. Under App passwords, click Create a new app password. Copy the app password and go to Outlook 2013. Follow the same steps as above to change your account password, but use the app password instead of your regular password.
- Repair your Outlook 2013 profile or create a new one. To do this, go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles. Select your Outlook 2013 profile and click Properties > Email Accounts > Repair. Follow the instructions to repair your profile. If that does not work, you can create a new profile by clicking Add and entering your outlook.com account details.
- Update your Outlook 2013 to the latest version or switch to a newer version of Outlook. To do this, go to File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now. Follow the instructions to install the latest updates for Outlook 2013. If that does not work, you can switch to a newer version of Outlook, such as Outlook 2016 or Outlook 365, that supports modern authentication and security features for outlook.com accounts.
I hope this helps!
Regards, Sola
