trying to upgrade but when giving al the information of my IMAP connection the continue button is greyed out.

On another MS forum people are saying IMAP is not enabled yet, is that correct?

Hey there, my name is Ajibola and I'm excited to help you today!

Indeed, the new Outlook for Windows does not support IMAP accounts yet. This means that you cannot add your email account from Yahoo!, iCloud, or other providers that use IMAP protocols to the new Outlook app. The new Outlook for Windows currently supports Exchange-backed Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, Outlook.com accounts, and Gmail accounts.

However, there is some good news. The new Outlook for Windows team is working hard to add support for more account types in the future, including IMAP accounts. They have not announced a specific timeline for this feature. Still, they have stated that they are listening to user feedback and prioritizing the most requested features https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/getting-started-with-the-new-outlook-for-windows-656bb8d9-5a60-49b2-a98b-ba7822bc7627. You can check their blog posts and release notes for the latest updates on the new Outlook for Windows development.

In the meantime, you can still use the classic Outlook for Windows app to access your IMAP account, or use a web browser to access your email provider's website. You can also switch back and forth between the new and classic Outlook for Windows apps by using the toggle switch at the top-right corner of the window.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to ask. I'm here to help!

Moving my Emails on to Outlook has completely damaged the new email send operation. Though my INBOX received emails which I can read and save to folder or delete etc. My new email to be sent is completely damaged as even short two line 50 word message is rejected as TOO BIG. As I have added NO Attachment the system must be finding several attachments to add to a short message to make it too big.

Being an OAP aged 80 I need on line remote assistant to solve this as I assume the email on windows 1o Outlook will need to be uninstalled and reinstalled to get it working. Meanwhile I can access my emails by going to MyBT and logging in the EMAIL page - I can also send emails on the MYBT site but this is a lot of trouble - Prior to my switch to OUTLOOK my email in windows was working properly for the last 10 years at least. By switching it into OUTLOOK as Microsoft requested has broken the send facility complete. Being a OAP I only have a VISA Debit to pay with - which you do not accept which is sad because my VISA Debit is accepted by most companies where I pay for items over £150 or more for items online like holiday deposits etc. I trust you will not which to refuse help to an OAP who has a broken email system through no fault of his own.

Yeah, that's happening to everyone now. You have to uninstall it form the Start menu by right clicking on the icon and choosing Uninstall. But it will be back the next time you turn on your computer. Maybe if we do it enough times Microsoft will get the message.
