"New Outlook" does not have the read aloud function when you are composing/writing emails (the feature is only available to read emails you have already received or sent). This is a huge miss and a disservice to Microsoft's customers, especially those with disabilities. Numerous folks are complaining about the lack of the read aloud feature in this thread Microsoft Read Aloud for New Outlook - Microsoft Community. Can Microsoft please respond and provide a timeline for when the Read Aloud function will be available when users are composing/drafting emails? Thank you.

To read text aloud when composing in OWA, I use the Firefox web browser with an extension called "Read Aloud: Text to Speeach Voice Reader." An icon sits in the top right corner of Firefox. I am able to select text while composing, then click the icon to read aloud.

This function needs to be implemented back into Outlook. This one function is so important to my daily use of the product.

I would like to switch back to classic until this is fixed. I find it crazy that Microsoft would take this very important function out. It makes me loose confidence in Microsoft.

Why did you remove this? Please add it back.

As should be clear from the thread, this is an important accessibility feature. Beyond this specific feature, please implement processes to ensure that no accessibility functionality is removed from new software releases, including those in preview. I understand that not all functionality will be available in preview, but there is no reason that accessibility functionality should not be on par at minimum with the previous release before previewing the new release. Dialing back accessibility features should never be an option considered in order to ship new software, even in preview.

    Thank you.
