Copy meetings from one calendar to another no longer supported

I'm using Outlook 365 on my Windows 11 PC, and the Outlook android app on my smartphone. On the PC, I have a work calendar, an association calendar, and a private one. The android app only has the private e-mail account and calendar (this is for security reasons). Until very recently, I have been able to copy meetings from the work and association calendars to the private one on my PC, so that they show up in my android Outlook app.

Microsoft has removed this functionality without warning. Outlook blocks copying meetings with “Copying meetings is not supported.” - Microsoft Support.

The workaround (involving editing the regsitry) works, but what is the long term solution?

There seem to be a lot of things Microsoft does not understand the common needs of their customers. This one is probably one of the most infuriating.

Jeremy, this function has, and continues to exist in Google Calendar. Unfortunately, our organization has left the Google universe and gone to the Microsoft universe. Having been a solutions developer on both platforms I find Google much easier to use. I'm curious what support nightmare and corruption issues are you seeing? Having used this feature in Google Calendar for years, I've never experienced a problem with the functionality.

BTW: Why not create new documents or emails to make copies or forwards? The answer is easy... that's what computers do.

This is buried earlier in thread so adding back here in case it can help.

You can re-enable the copy meeting capability for Classic Outlook, Outlook blocks copying meetings with “Copying meetings is not supported.” - Microsoft Support.

I created a registry key file you can download, EnableMeetingCopyInOutlookDesktop. Download EnableMeetingCopy.reg and double click on it to add it to your registry. After you add the registry key restart Outlook to start copying meetings again.

    Hello,

Don't know if this will work for anyone else but when I open my calendar item there is an option called Duplicate event (by the Delete option). I click on that and at the top by the Save is a drop down that has all my calendars. I select one of my other calendars and I'm set.

    Hope that works for everyone.

    Regards,

    LAA
