Copy meetings from one calendar to another no longer supported

I'm using Outlook 365 on my Windows 11 PC, and the Outlook android app on my smartphone. On the PC, I have a work calendar, an association calendar, and a private one. The android app only has the private e-mail account and calendar (this is for security reasons). Until very recently, I have been able to copy meetings from the work and association calendars to the private one on my PC, so that they show up in my android Outlook app.

Microsoft has removed this functionality without warning. Outlook blocks copying meetings with “Copying meetings is not supported.” - Microsoft Support.

The workaround (involving editing the regsitry) works, but what is the long term solution?

    This works in the old outlook but not in the "new" outlook. You need to add a reg key to allow copying again. I think in the new Outlook you have to use duplicate, but I haven't tested that.

    Here is the reg key entry that has to be added for the old outlook

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar

    EnableMeetingCopy=DWORD:1

    After you add the reg key you can drag and drop from one calendar to another.

    I'm on Outlook for Mac and this functionality stopped working without warning and also without the error message that Windows users receive. The button to copy meetings is still there and when you do it nothing happens. This UX is terrible, and the registry edit workaround does not apply to Mac users.

    I need this functionality back, and I do not know how to workaround it not functioning on macOS. Can anyone provide any details on this? Currently I have to manually recreate my meeting in every calendar I need it to be. To remove time saving functionality without warning on Windows, and then just let it completely break with no consideration for macOS is baffling.

    "Actions related to copied meetings yield unexpected results" does not apply to everyone. I had highly expected results thank you very much!

    Lots of people have different accounts that they use. Sometimes I use a junk account to view webinars that require an invitation. Other times I just want to be able to copy meetings from my personal account (or a second business I have a different email address for) to ONE calendar, so I don't forget meetings, and I can easily see them all on one calendar.

    If there's a true "problem" (something that could cause damage to files or privacy) then I understand needing to make a fix. But I think Microsoft doesn't understand how many people DO commonly like to copy meetings from different calendars to one they use a their MAIN Calendar.

    And by just unexpectedly turning off this feature, it's really frustrating. Please fix whatever issue you are concerned about, but allow people to continue copying from one calendar to another.
