Copy meetings from one calendar to another no longer supported

I'm using Outlook 365 on my Windows 11 PC, and the Outlook android app on my smartphone. On the PC, I have a work calendar, an association calendar, and a private one. The android app only has the private e-mail account and calendar (this is for security reasons). Until very recently, I have been able to copy meetings from the work and association calendars to the private one on my PC, so that they show up in my android Outlook app.

Microsoft has removed this functionality without warning. Outlook blocks copying meetings with “Copying meetings is not supported.” - Microsoft Support.

The workaround (involving editing the regsitry) works, but what is the long term solution?

    Hi

    this is a killer solution. But what could cause this if maybe it was working and for god knows why it start acting up?

    Why did you turn off a perfectly useful tool? Bring it back, please! It is a waste of time to have to schedule meetings twice!

    This works in the old outlook but not in the "new" outlook. You need to add a reg key to allow copying again. I think in the new Outlook you have to use duplicate, but I haven't tested that.

    Here is the reg key entry that has to be added for the old outlook

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar

    EnableMeetingCopy=DWORD:1

    After you add the reg key you can drag and drop from one calendar to another.

    I never swapped over to the new Outlook because I noticed immediately I lost functionality. I've had Outlook 365 since July, 2023 and only lost copying and pasting from one calendar to another :(

    One starrring these posts because of how tone deaf MS is that most people are disallowed to sign in as admin by their company and others can't handle the steps of regedit. We don't want work arounds. YOU made copying meetings a problem, YOU should fix that. Maybe call Google and ask why their code has no problem with copying meetings.

    Restarting my computer enabled the reg key to work. Now able to copy calendar items. This feature should be sacred.
