Copy meetings from one calendar to another no longer supported

This works in the old outlook but not in the "new" outlook. You need to add a reg key to allow copying again. I think in the new Outlook you have to use duplicate, but I haven't tested that.

Here is the reg key entry that has to be added for the old outlook

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar

EnableMeetingCopy=DWORD:1

After you add the reg key you can drag and drop from one calendar to another.

I'm on Outlook for Mac and this functionality stopped working without warning and also without the error message that Windows users receive. The button to copy meetings is still there and when you do it nothing happens. This UX is terrible, and the registry edit workaround does not apply to Mac users.

I need this functionality back, and I do not know how to workaround it not functioning on macOS. Can anyone provide any details on this? Currently I have to manually recreate my meeting in every calendar I need it to be. To remove time saving functionality without warning on Windows, and then just let it completely break with no consideration for macOS is baffling.

"Actions related to copied meetings yield unexpected results" does not apply to everyone. I had highly expected results thank you very much!

Right now I don't think there are any long-term solutions other than to request the feature back using the feedback portal.

Meanwhile, other workarounds are to:

Use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy and paste a meeting from one calendar to another, as long as they are in the same Outlook profile. To do this, select the meeting you want to copy, press Ctrl+C, switch to the other calendar, select the same date and time, and press Ctrl+V.

You can export and import calendar information from one Outlook Data File (.pst) to another, or from one calendar folder to another within the Navigation Pane.

It's gone because of the headaches it creates (exceptions). Anyone who has supported Exchange / Outlook for any length of time will tell you that copypasted or drag n dropped meetings can become corrupt very quickly, and it becomes a support nightmare.

Instead of blaming Microsoft for removing what was a terrible feature to begin with, why not just create a new meeting ?

I guess you don't schedule meetings for other people - otherwise you would know that copying and pasting meetings is something that saves a LOT of time - esp if you just need to place a hold (or 20) on your boss's calendar while waiting for others to get back to you with their availability. To have to individually create those meetings - takes time because it's not as easy as HOLD - you need to type in more info for what meeting you are holding that time for.

It IS their fault because (in your own words) their product allows for "copypasted or drag n dropped meetings becoming corrupt very quickly" Google far outstrips Microsoft in calendar series management and copying meetings. MS is a dinosaur too large to efficiently take care of customers well any more.
