Cannot import .ics file into Outlook (new) app

Hi,

I am having several problems with my outlook (new) app.

  1. I cannot import .ics files into the app as no calendar is available in the "Upload from file" window. I have verified that Outlook (new) is the default for .ics files.
  2. I cannot sync my Outlook app calendar on my laptop with my Calendar app on my Iphone 10. I get an error message when I try to sync it via Icloud.

PS: I am using a gmail account for my outlook.

Any suggestions?

Best, Finn

    Hi Soji,

    many thanks.

I couldn't find the File option in New Outlook. I therefore switched back to old outlook. However, it seems that i thereby lost all calendar entries which I created under New Outlook. That shouldn't be the case, no? Can you advise?

Also, under the old outlook, my outlook calendar does not sync to the calendar on my iphone. can you advise?

Should I use old or new outlook? Old outlook has problems with syncing with phone, new outlook has problems importing calendar entries. So neither is working properly.

    Many thanks, Finn

I couldn't find the file option in the New pathetic designed outlook either. I guess it too much to ask Microsoft people to just give us what worked easily back. The old calendar. The new outlook is garbage and user unfriendly.

They obviously don't care about their customers. They seem to have a monopoly and management operates on the tuff S we don't care about the customer

This is not directed to the poster - but to MICROSOFT.

MICROSOFT... ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW? You have to download a calendar .ics file, EMAIL IT TO YOURSELF and THEN it'll add to your calendar?

    REALLY?

FIX YOUR STUFF. It's absolutely useless now.

That doesn't work either. I have about 9 ICS files that will not load. Microsoft knows they have a monopoly and they care nothing about customer service. I'm guessing they hire people that are poor programmers and care nothing about customer service. One of the best days I had in my work career was when I became the top person. The first thing I did was fire the IT Director. He was totally self centered and thought IT ran the company. When I interact with Microsoft I get the feeling the IT people are out of the same mode as the person I fired. IT people can take a company to a standstill if allowed to do so, I doubt anyone from Microsoft gives a **** about their lousy software. After all they gave us garbage like Millennium that crashed all the time. JMHO

Like Finn, there is NO "Select import/export file" option apparent in my New Outlook and there is also no "Click on file" option. Many posts in other threads say there are those options which feels like a total lie. I am able to drag and drop my ics file into my Calendar to get totally dysfunctional "Upload from file" screen but the "Import" button is grayed out and unresponsive as are the Browse and Select a calendar options. How freakin stupid for such a widespread scheduling tool like an ics file to not only not work, but also get a bunch of false claims that it does work. Even this reply option doesn't work in that it doesn't allow me to upload a screen shot. ****?
