Cannot import .ics file into Outlook (new) app

Hi,

I am having several problems with my outlook (new) app.

  1. I cannot import .ics files into the app as no calendar is available in the "Upload from file" window. I have verified that Outlook (new) is the default for .ics files.
  2. I cannot sync my Outlook app calendar on my laptop with my Calendar app on my Iphone 10. I get an error message when I try to sync it via Icloud.

PS: I am using a gmail account for my outlook.

Any suggestions?

    This really wasn't helpful. I've already seen everything online.

    This program SUCKS! What used to take a click to save and have it automatically download into my calendar, now takes several steps. Way to go Microsoft. You really know how to screw up a good thing. We're already busy enough and now you waste more of our time making us go through more hoops because someone didn't figure out how to streamline things BEFORE you launched the new version of the program.

    You REALLY are FRUSTRATING!!!

    I am not sure if anyone has shared a solution yet but I figured it out.

    Open your calendar in outlook. Then go to the folder where the ICS file is and Open With the New Outlook. It should automatically open the Add Calendar screen on the Upload from File section. There you can select the file from Browse or drag and drop the ICS.

    Additionally, you can just click Add Calendar and select the Upload from File option on the left side of the screen. Then upload the ICS file.

    It imports it directly to the calendar without giving the option to edit first, so you will need to find the even in the calendar if you want to edit it. Annoying but the best option I have been able to find.

    Yeah I know.. sucks really! My only work around was to open the download with classic outlook, via opening with app option to see the other outlook listed there and open it.

    LOL Microsoft could not give a **** about customers. in my opinion care little about you. The fact they forced you to lose a perfectly good calendar tool and gave you a non- functioning piece of **** should tell they don’t care. Heck this forum isn’t even monitored by microcrap people who could help us.
