Cannot import .ics file into Outlook (new) app

Hi,

I am having several problems with my outlook (new) app.

  1. I cannot import .ics files into the app as no calendar is available in the "Upload from file" window. I have verified that Outlook (new) is the default for .ics files.
  2. I cannot sync my Outlook app calendar on my laptop with my Calendar app on my Iphone 10. I get an error message when I try to sync it via Icloud.

PS: I am using a gmail account for my outlook.

Any suggestions?

Best, Finn

Honestly, this whole process and workaround is garbage. The fact that something this simple doesn't work is a shinning example of how rolling out new features and fully replacing things like Outlook and Teams, saying it is NEW and IMPROVED is absolute garbage. I am going to move everything to Google Calendar because that at least works.

I have three computers synced. On one computer uninstalled outlook. Reverts back to old mail and calendar. Calendars on other computers with outlook have appointments.

Took another look based on above, basically I only have one version of Outlook installed on my Mac, although I had both versions on my office IBM PC, so many thanks but still stuck!

I was able to do this by downloading the .ics, right clicking it in downloads, and choosing to open it with the old version of Outlook. It saved to a different calendar than the one I use with Outlook (new) but I was able to drag it over to the correct calendar. Not ideal, so hopefully it gets fixed soon because it's ridiculous that such a basic function of calendaring isn't possible.

Thanks for your reply, but as I said in my first post, this didnt work and has the same dialogue as just loading direct from the Finder with Open with...

Basically now stuck with Apple Calendar and Teams meetings.
