I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. When you receive one-time code (code) that you did not request, Microsoft recommends you ignore it. Without this code, anyone trying to access your account will fail. It could also be a case of someone who mistakenly entered your email address or a technical issue.

"If you received an email alerting you to an unusual sign-in attempt on your account but you have not done anything different with your account recently, follow these steps to review your account security:

Select Review activity to check for any unusual sign-in attempts on the Recent activity page https://support.microsoft.com/office/23cf5556-4dbe-70da-82c8-bb3a8d8f8016

If you see account activity that you are sure wasn't yours, let Microsoft know and they can help secure your account—if it's in the Unusual activity section, you can expand the activity and select This wasn't me. If it's in the Recent activity section, you can expand the activity and select Secure your account.

If you think someone else may have accessed your account, go back to the Security basics page and select Change password. Create a strong password that you can remember, and don't share it with anybody else."

It is recommended that users never clicking links in suspicious emails. Don't trust messages claiming that you need to verify your Outlook password to upgrade your mailbox size, as they may be phishing attempts. Microsoft will never ask you for your password. Also, emails stating your account will be deleted if you don't act soon are also phishing attempts to get your account credentials.
Keep Your Account Recovery Information updated: This is a very important step that is often neglected by users. Updating your account recovery information will allow you easily regain access to your account in an unfortunate incident. Add security info to your account to make it easier to recover your account if it’s hacked. Because this info can help keep your account safe, it's important to keep it up to date. I wonder if this will improve the security and your confidence:
1. Sign into your Microsoft account
2. Create a new alias email address (if you don't already have one to use) - you won't use this email address for email
- Select "Your Info"
- Under Account Info, select "Edit account info" > "Add email"
1. Then select "Sign-in preferences"
2. Under the area headed "Sign-in preferences"
3. Change the "primary alias" to the newly created alias email address by clicking the "make primary" option
4. Then select "Change sign-in preferences"
5. Choose the aliases that are allowed to sign-in to you account.
6. Add a check mark in the box next to your newly created alias.
7. Since your primary email account is the one that hackers are attempting to hack, remove the checkmark next to that email address and add a checkmark next to the newly created alias.
Doing this will keep your original email address intact, but neither you nor anyone else will be able to log into your account with that email address. Since you won't be using the new alias email address for email, it will not become known on the internet and so the likelihood of anyone being able to use it to attempt to log into your account is pretty small.
