Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Please have a look at this Support article:
Outlook unexpectedly has an App Search bar above the message list
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
This morning Outlook updated and I noticed there is a new search bar to search apps, how may I remove this bar?
I do not use apps, do not want to use apps and have no need to search for them.
If this is related to MS Team and conjoining everything, I still want to remove this app search bar in Outlook.
Please help.
Thank you!

Try updating your Office installation (File > Account > Update Options > Update Now).

RESOLVED FOR US
Hi all,
Same issue here but this is now resolved, I have followed the below steps which has got this working so hopefully this works for you all.
- I have went to "Add or remove apps" within Windows device
- I have uninstalled all products relating to Office including Office 365 and Office 2019 Home & Business. - Client at time was running 365 Basic license with Home and Business 2019 installed.
- Once all has been uninstalled restart the device
- When machine is back online go to https://login.microsoftonline.com and reinstall required Office application (64Bit Home & Business 2019 was downloaded for us)
- Once the Office products had a fresh install this removed the issue.
Hopefully this works for most people with this issue. Please note that Office online repair or quick repair does not resolve issue.
This will not work. It is only a temporary fix as it resets to the initial install but as soon as the updates are applied it will go back to this monstrosity. MICROSOFT, ARE YOU LISTENING? The users are not impressed with this update. Please correct this ASAP.
Same here, have the same issue. This 'App Search' box is so stupid and very annoying. Agreed 100% Microsoft please sort this out ASAP and tell us all how to remove it!
