This morning Outlook updated and I noticed there is a new search bar to search apps, how may I remove this bar?

I do not use apps, do not want to use apps and have no need to search for them.

If this is related to MS Team and conjoining everything, I still want to remove this app search bar in Outlook.

Please help.

Thank you!

Hello, nothing from your answers seems to work. The distorted window/dialogue persists.

Phil - check out my reply above, but I'll quote it here for you:

"I found the solution. I am running Office 2016 and had the same issue after January 30, 2024 - Version 2401 (Build 17231.20182) update. I had to rollback to January 9, 2024 Version 2312 (Build 17126.20132) update. (The Version/Build number is dependent on which version of Office you are running - update history/build numbers can be found here - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-2019.

To rollback, I executed the following commands (I actually did this in a batch file (simple text file but saved on my desktop as .bat instead of .txt), because I'll need to perfomr the steps for several of my customers). The batch file is as follows:

    echo on

    C:

    cd %programfiles%\common files\microsoft shared\clicktorun

    officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.XXXXX.XXXXX

XXXXX.XXXXX = the SPECIFIC Build Number you want to rollback to from the link I included above.

I then right-clicked and select RUN AS ADMINISTOR

Another way to accomplish this to follow the steps in this KB Article (although I found the batch file approach a little more straight forward, as I'll have to deploy6 this to quick a few machines)

It has always irritated me that Microsoft thinks they knows better than we do how to use our programs. Hope this helps"

I have the same issue this morning. I went to search for an email in outlook and an "App Search" box appears along side the search box. How do I get rid of it?

    Phil
