This morning Outlook updated and I noticed there is a new search bar to search apps, how may I remove this bar?
I do not use apps, do not want to use apps and have no need to search for them.
If this is related to MS Team and conjoining everything, I still want to remove this app search bar in Outlook.
Please help.

Try updating your Office installation (File > Account > Update Options > Update Now).

Microsoft Office Team - what is the solution?! Please respond quickly. This is obvious bug in the program.
This worked for me. Close all Office apps. Then open CMD with elevated permissions (as administrator) and use this command:
“C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe” /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17029.20108
No reboot even required.
Keep in mind that you'll probably have to disable automatic updates or it will "downgrade" back to the **** version!

I will never want to search for apps that often that I would like a search bar for it always active on my screen.
The suggested solution (uncheck the box 'offer suggestions as I type') does not solve the issue.
