Hotmail keeps asking for my password.

I have a one year old DELL XPS, and in the past couple weeks not only is my hotmail account repeatedly asking for password (which is autopopulated and correct), but my onedrive is not automatically syncing with laptop. So ever time I turn on computer for the day, the onedrive is greyed out and says I'm not signed in. For anywhere from 5 to 60 minutues the hotmail account will ask for the password every time my email app syncs (every few minutes) and not accept the autopopulated pw, and during the same period, the onedrive remains greyed out and also won't sign in when I try to do so manually. Then, at some point, both accounts suddenly sync. Meanwhile the same hotmail account syncs fine on my Galaxy phone, which is a couple years older than my laptop.

This certainly seems like a microsoft problem. After dealing with this for weeks, I've decided it's safer to migrate all my files and email to google. Tired of nothing working right with microsoft products.

My old Windows 8.1 asked for the password again this morning and said there was a problem with a security certificate but eventually updated. The problem never occurs on my Windows 11 laptop so you could be right about the TPM chip. I normally use another email provider so it's not a big problem, just annoying. I had to have a MS email when I bought the old laptop so I could use the Mail App built in to Windows 8. Microsoft should sort this problem out as there must be many people still using a hotmail address.

Yes, that time frame is the same here. It happens on several laptops that my family members use, and hotmail is the only affected service (not office 365) I even tried to install Office 2021 on one of the laptops, that I had the license on, but the same problem occours. However, one very interesting thing that has happened is that since last time I have bought a brand new Dell XPS 15 laptop, with Windows Pro preinstalled, and funny enough on this laptop it never asks again for the hotmail password, but this one is also running Office 2021 same version. So, it seems like there is also some kind of Security issue maybe with the TPM chip or something that older laptops do not have. The problem is the same on my wife's hotmail account. Just really really annoying. She is using a HP Elitebook gen. 5. This is absoluty a bug that Microsoft has started. My last information is that on one laptop Microsoft automatically installed a new version of Outlook, called Outlook new or something that is 'integrated' in the operating system, and this new 'solution' copied my email settings for hotmail into this program to auto-solve this issue, but it is not a part of Office Professional that I paid for, and I do not prefer stupid small extra programs to download hotmail emails. Also after we had to pay for extra storage since hotmail storage got full, it seems like Microsoft is treating hotmail like a 'stepmother', since they seem to slowly let hotmail die and have too many annoying problems (attachments suddenly count as used storage space and Microsoft wants everybody to change to Office 365 instead. It is much better and cheaper to get a full paid version that never expires and use it for 10 years until Microsoft puts in bugs to sell newer licenses😀 I think it is a clear sign here that they are not interested in a solution because they do not earn any money on hotmail. Therefore, it is a very bad business culture that should be changed. A propper solution should be a good proof that Microsoft has better intentions, but until a propper solution is in place my theory is strengthened by Microsofts ignorance!

This problem started about 3 weeks ago with my Fire tablet asking for my password then not accepting it. I set a new MS password, deleted the account from the Fire tablet and tried to reinstall it but it still won't accept the new password. Today The Hotmail account on my laptop has asked for the password again and it has now updated but the Fire tablet still won't install. There is something wrong with MS hotmail that needs sorting and it is not the fault of users!

I have exactly the same issue. Tried with both Outlook 2013 and outlook 2021. Same problem. What is going on ?
