Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Have you tried removing and re-adding your account/s? It worked for me.

I have this problem - Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password - and i think it is a growing World wide Microsoft problem :-(
See also here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Outlook/comments/19dx64p/outlook_2013_windows_10_suddenly_not_accepting/Outlook gives me this: (startede yesterday)
I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...
They both have this error.
I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(
Please help me.
Thanks in advance
Pierre

Continues to request new sign in. No new emails being received. Generally, the sign in takes and new emails start to arrive, but unless I check the 9Folders app to see the authentication error or the sign-in request, I don't know I'm getting new emails. Really, really hope that MS is making some progress here. 24 days and counting.
Works for a few hours. Then throws errors randomly. Also sometimes resolves randomly. No logic to any of this.
Gabriel, will paying customers receive a month's+ credit for the non-functioning products we pay for?
Hi all,
I got the Known Issue updated to reflect the issue is still being worked on, Outlook and other apps are unable to connect to Outlook.com - Microsoft Support. The main thing happening now is I have contacted multiple people in this forum thread and provided their account info to the service team. The service team is investigating the connectivity for those accounts and making ongoing changes. There is representation for all the connection types e.g. EAS, POP, IMAP, Exchange, and both desktop and mobile apps. Once I know any status updates I will post back.
Thanks Gabriel - the update is appreciated. Like others, I often have to tap "Cancel" numerous times when my iPhone keeps rejecting the Exchange sign-on, but it eventually connects. I don't seem to have the problem on my iPad since I switched to outlook.com.
