Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password

Mine went down for a couple minutes like an hour ago but came right back. Maybe they're updating/patching stuff.

I posted about how I deleted the device from Outlook Web setting and then delete/re-added the account on my phone, EAS has been working well. Before, I was getting the error message on the dot every 15-min of my sync frequency since evening of 1/23 Pacific time. Now, over the last 36 hours, I only saw 3 or 4 errors. It's not perfect but came down significantly. However, my Outlook desktop app still has the issue at a much more frequent manner.

Outlook Web's mobile device setting only shows iOS or Android devices, so Window's devices do not show up there. So it's at least worth trying on your phone.

IMAP works better but not acceptable to me because I need contacts and calendar sync as well - I figure it's the same for most people.

MS has had its share of outages, but this is by far the longest... pushing a week without any new meaningful updates. I'd argue this is a new low.

"New Outlook" has new terms and condition, and by using it, you agree to send and share all your emails and 3rd party account data with Microsoft. So think and read that before you opt to use it. "New Outlook" on Win11 is a PWA. For MS accounts, it probably doesn't matter, BUT if you access any non-MS accounts, it means MS cloud will be the middle man accessing your non-MS account data and refurnishing it to you on your screen. It's very very different than the Outlook desktop which is a local client. "New Outlook" is a cloud client.

Regardless of the terms, I've seen it and it blows. I am not looking forward to when it is the only option.

Yeah I've done that a few times, didn't seem to help any.

This is just for my phone, my windows PCs run outlook client and it has been fine all along (it uses MAPI over HTTPS).
