Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password

I have this problem - Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password - and i think it is a growing World wide Microsoft problem :-(

I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...

They both have this error.

I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(

Please help me.

    Yes. I firmly believe the intermittent nature itself of these issues both with prompts and slowness is due to the extreme throttling they are applying to the servers. My experience now using IMAP and Thunderbird is with intermittent but consistent slow responses from servers when opening and closing folders, and downloading and marking messages. At times responses are normal and unremarkable, while at other times I get very slow responses from the servers.

    I can’t say anything about EAS because I did not test it.

    EAS is a protocol designed for mobile, while most desktop clients use the EWS (Exchange Web Service) protocol.

    I tested this a lot and tried to reverse engineering the communication of several desktop app to understand what’s going on.

    The conclusion: EWS does not work with OAuth for personal Outlook accounts with one exception: Apple Calendar. For some reason they can use it.

    Never got an official reply from MS on this matter. My understanding is that EWS is being deprecated and therefore they don’t want vendors to keep using it. Apple probably got a special del to be able to keep using it.

    Another authentication error. Please sign in/can't sign in. Multiple failures before it took. Outlook.com account on 9Folders using eas.

    Is there any Solution for GMAIL on Android? It´s possible to use "modern authentication" but then it can´t connect and gives me an error message...
