WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO FIX THIS IDIOTIC UPGRADE MESS FROM OVER A MONTH AGO, EARLY JANUARY? WHY WON'T THE STUPID CLIENT RETAIN MY PASSWORD AND LOGON AUTOMATICALLY? WHY MUST I INPUT THE PASSWORD MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE THE CLIENT FINALLY SYNCS UP???????????????????? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS GENERATION OF MS EMPLOYEES????????????????????????????????

I have the same problem for 1 week....been running Office 2016 for 8 years on Windows 10 and 3 yrs on Windows 11 and never a problem with authentication unless I changed the password. This is a fix Microsoft has to make. Its so annoying you could be browsing or working on a word document and the password window pops up.

Struggled for hours to get a connection last night. Got it. But today, it's back to ceaseless password prompts.

MS execs are really earning their $112M+ compensation packages, aren't they? May the billionaire class get what they deserve one day soon.

I would again argue you are disconnected from reality. I happen to be in a senior role at my company. Talking to my peers, most people are worried about losing long-term customers, acquisition or re-acquisition cost of long-term customers is very high. One can argue that are plenty of competitions, long term or legacy customers' "laziness" is an important element that keep those customers from defecting. The "laziness" comes from risk-mitigation and don't want to fix what's not broken. Microsoft just open a huge door. We are literally talking to the G company about switching over - that idea wasn't even possible just a few years ago. Why? Several IT and exec leads are having issue with their own MS mail and it also triggered feedback from users of their own experiences - personal experience does impact business decisions, period.

I really don't understand your motivations here. Many folks including me have said from Day 1 that we have MFA enabled on the account and client, yet you are always on that wagon blaming people for not having MFA enabled and not using OAuth, just scroll back and read your own comments. From the debug logs, MS servers declined OAuth so the client used the legacy method. There isn't much we, as users, can do from the client side. And you know what's sad about this? I tried all supported protocols to fetch/sync using Outlook desktop to/from Gmail and it works without a single issue. Regardless how little senior product leadership cares, at some point, they need to come to grip with reality.

I don't have issue with MFA but when it pops up randomly after I've authenticated it, it is rather annoying when you're working on something else. It is also asking for the user name and password for one email account.....the others seem to be connecting without MFA. This is as technical as I get.

As for the rest of your reply I have no idea what you are talking about. To me servers work in restaurants....have no idea what Oauth is or what the client side means. As I said, I have no problem with MFA as long as I'm not having to input it multiple times.
