Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
New twist on Thunderbird:
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I have this problem - Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password - and i think it is a growing World wide Microsoft problem :-(
See also here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Outlook/comments/19dx64p/outlook_2013_windows_10_suddenly_not_accepting/Outlook gives me this: (startede yesterday)
I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...
They both have this error.
I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(
Please help me.
Thanks in advance
Pierre

Excellent!
Totally agree. Why some work and others don't, all identical is a bit frustrating. BTW, my 9Folders changes this past Sunday (yes, finally go to it!) seems to be working for now. Will report back if not.
It's the intermittent nature of this that's most mind-boggling. I have identical settings with no issues.
Just got an authentication error for my Hotmail account using all the recommended settings in the latest version of Thunderbird 115.8.1
I am also again experiencing extreme slowness synchronizing (opening and closing folders, downloading and marking messages). This again seems to be the same extreme throttling issue I was experiencing before switching over from basic authentication which was alleged would be resolved using OAuth2.
Gmail account works flawlessly using OAuth2.
Frankly, this authentication problem is outrageous, and clearly systemic regardless of what method is being used.
