Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password

I have this problem - Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password - and i think it is a growing World wide Microsoft problem :-(

I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...

They both have this error.

I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(

Please help me.

    If I may make a suggestion, everyone needs to scroll to the bottom of the issue page and click the button for "not helpful" and then provide the feedback it's been too long without update.

    I happen to know when any of their articles gets more negative feedback than expected it raises an internal flag that may get more attention for us.

    Gabriel Bratton did a runner, along with any notion that Microsoft know how to operate an email service.

    Initial message 1/26/24. A significant number of folks use Outlook, which for many is not accessible. All we're asking for is an update to the original message as to status of problem and ETA for resolution.

    There are long periods in a day, where mine is also working, and then suddenly, the dreaded "connection" issue happens. I'm not considering it "working" until many, many of us report likewise, or preferably Microsoft updates their own issue tracking site.
