Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password

I have this problem - Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password - and i think it is a growing World wide Microsoft problem :-(

I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...

They both have this error.

I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(

Please help me.

    11:45 EST 31-Jan. iOS MS OUTLOOK 2016 (i.e., "personal") I logged on successfully and have stayed logged on for 45 minutes. So far so good.

    Logon was squirrelly: the app would not accept my password, and kept prompting me to re-enter it (same user experience as during the problem period), but in the meantime the app logged on with my (same) stored password in the background, so while it was prompting me to re-enter my password, it showed me connected and emails starting loading.

    In the end, all is (currently) well.

    Of course, but name me an email client in the personal side that uses OAuth2. I think Gmail does, bit I believe none of the others do.

    Same with 9Folders.

    Quite. There's really no reason for those apps not to support OAuth2 on personal accounts. If I used those apps, I would be asking for an explanation.
