Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password

I have this problem - Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password - and i think it is a growing World wide Microsoft problem :-(

I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...

They both have this error.

I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(

Please help me.

    At this stage no fix in sight as they “resolved” the issue on 2 Feb according to the report

    How do we get MS to reopen the issue? They say fixed on 2 Feb but issues still constantly occurring

    Using Outlook 2021 on Win10 PC - using Exchange and ***** @outlook.com email. Also iPhone15 with default mail client.

    Both still getting random prompts for password - works okay for a day sometimes two - then bang.

    I close and ignore the sign-in and send an email to myself and mostly that will kick it back to life (not always)

    This has beeen going on since 23rd January. Prior to that, I've used my outlook email account with outlook on my pc for >2 years with no issues.

    This shouldn't be random - When will there be a fix?

    Outlook 2013 need to be at least at version 15.0.4971.1000.

    I'm using Outlook 2013 version 15.0.5603.1000

    2-steps verification is On.

    Using app password.

    Outlook still prompted for password, and would not accept new app passwords (as of 02/06/2024 ~ 1PM PST).
