Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Everywhere I look, whether on Outlook on the web, the Outlook app, or my email client, all folders are in sync including trash/deleted.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I have this problem - Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password - and i think it is a growing World wide Microsoft problem :-(
See also here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Outlook/comments/19dx64p/outlook_2013_windows_10_suddenly_not_accepting/Outlook gives me this: (startede yesterday)
I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...
They both have this error.
I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(
Please help me.
Thanks in advance
Pierre

On page 22 of this thread I replied
"Using Outlook's webmail this is not an issue for me."
I am signed in using Outlook on the web and have no problem with missing deleted items. I don't use the native Outlook app for mobile devices, as I use a different client.
Sorry, but I believe it is unrelated to this thread which pertains specifically to authentication with e-mail clients.
Gmail Android connecting to outlook.com personal via Exchange account type with app password (modern auth is not supported for personal accounts in Gmail) is still intermittently getting the error, but it seems to come and go pretty quickly now instead of being down all day. I suspect they haven't caught all the offending servers yet.
so nobody in here is going to sign into their hotmail/outlook on web or app and tell me they are still seeing everything in deleted items today or just showing yesterday at all eh i want to know if this doing other folks and nobody is answering my question meh
The Microsoft Support status for this issue at
has been updated from "Investigating" to "Resolved". I hope it was not premature, but at this time we have not had further authentication/login prompt errors using Windows Live Mail, Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016, Thunderbird, and the Samsung Email apps since early this morning when changes were evidently made by the Outlook team.
