Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password

I have this problem - Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password - and i think it is a growing World wide Microsoft problem :-(

I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...

They both have this error.

I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(

Please help me.

    UPDATE.

    No sooner did I send the update indicting potential progress that I went about my morning routine and shazam, first one and then yet another of the 4 impacted accounts started prompting again for password.

    You have my 4 accounts in your inbox.

    Thanks for the quick response. A couple of questions please. So, is Fetchmail working this entire time? Do you have specific clients that use OAuth on the personal side? I use 9Folders, that only allows OAuth on business accounts. Thanks much.

    Tried this around when the issues first came up, have been using it. I've still had it throw the same message but way less than basic auth has, maybe once a day at most at first and not for a few days now.

    The problem has not yet been resolved with the combination of Outlook 2013 and Hotmail.com. With the above combination, you cannot use a regular password and must use an app password, but even if you generate a new app password and enter it, you will be asked for credentials again and again.

    However, Exchange synchronization will occur. (That state from the beginning)

    Is Asia server supported yet?

    What client uses OAuth 2.0 for personal accounts, that syncs everything?

    For email, almost all current clients support OAuth2 now. I use Fetchmail on Linux which requires app passwords to function.
