I have this problem - Outlook 2016 doesn't accept password or app password - and i think it is a growing World wide Microsoft problem :-(

I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...
They both have this error.
I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(
Please help me.

I must say that things have settled down - still getting the prompts for each account on opening Outlook 2013 but all mail functions are working.
(Unsuccessfully trying not to succumb to nostalgia for this thread.)
It's a free account, and so I don't understand why it doesn't authenticate as OAuth, yet all the registry keys are present.
I may have missed the fact but does anyone remember MS emailing us in advance of this protocol change?

You were looking at my screenshot but replied to Alessandro. He doesn't even use English version of Outlook. It appears that he's also connected to office365 (Exchange MAPI over HTTPS) mailbox. I'm not sure why his connection shows Not Encrypted.
In that case, not encrypted, so it's was not authenticated via OAuth.
By the way, is that a work/organization account, or your personal paid/free Hotmail/Outlook.com account?
