See also here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Outlook/comments/19dx64p/outlook_2013_windows_10_suddenly_not_accepting/Outlook gives me this: (startede yesterday)

I have 2 PC's with HOTMAIL accounts in Outlook 2016 ...

They both have this error.

I do get mails ... but I can´t send mails. Yesterday it did work for 1-2 hours ... but right now the error is there all the time :-(

Please help me.

Thanks in advance

Pierre

    Hi Angus -

Kudos to 9Folders for jumping on his quickly and creating a workable solution while the rest of us wait for MS to get their heads out of the sand and fix it properly.

With that being said, 9Folders is not an option for those of us dealing with this issue in Mailbird, Thunderbird, or a myriad of other Windows desktop apps.

My Outlook mail is currently working just swimmingly on my native iPhone Apple Mail app, as well as on my iPad and my work-provided MacBook Pro (also the native mail app), but my personal Windows laptop is having these connectivity issues in both Mailbird as well as the MS Outlook app.

Right now the only way I can stay up to date on my multiple Outlook email accounts is via a web browser, which is awkward and time-consuming.

This issue started on 1/23/2024. It was intermittent but gradually got worse and worse. I started a business trip on 1/24/2024 and basically it hasn't worked since then. I have Gmail on Android setup for eas.outlook.com and emails/contact/calendar are not getting sync'ed/downloaded. I am constantly getting "credential needed" error. Downloaded Outlook for Android, same issue.

However, I did notice it occasionally connects on its own because some of my newer emails show up in the Inbox, but 90+% of times, it won't connect. This is so frustrating because I use this account for travel related email updates.

This is getting ridiculous to have this issue for almost a week without any update or fix or even an announcement from Microsoft.

ok just got a response back to 9 folder It's the Microsoft Outlook service's problem. We should wait until Microsoft solves this trouble. If there is any update from Microsoft, we will let you know right away.
    Thanks for your understanding.

    Thanks,

Agreed. The nature, spread and duration of the issue are extreme and surprising, and the absence of any notifications is an abdication of responsibility which in turn leaves many people changing settings or even deleting profiles. I'm guessing that it is either: Not as bad as we think even though there may be many of us here, or that it is a bigger issue than it even seems to us and the best they can do for the moment is limp along.

It's fine if MS is making changes, but a heads-up and a how-to should be the least they do. Now, if this is some server failure or coding issue, understood, but post something somewhere, rather than leave us all wondering and suffering through this.
