How to create/save .ics file in New Outlook for Windows

Second missing functionality issue since I started using Outlook new a couple of days ago. The first problem I found is that I cannot rename sub-folders. This second one, not being able to save as an ICS file so I can load into my google calendar is the second.

I understand new versions of products on brand new platforms not having all the old functionality, that will take time. But basic stuff like ICS files in an email app and renaming folders really should be there.

The amount of time I just spent on (unsuccessfully) trying to complete what used to be a simple task is so frustrating. Saving and forwarding .ics events is an essential part of how our organization coordinates large 50+ person meetings. How has Microsoft not added this feature back into new Outlook!?!?! Please fix this!!

Thank you for the tips in this thread. I did notice this too, and it sure is frustrating that this feature has been removed!

Another thing, I tried going back to old Outlook, created the ics file there, then attached it to an email in new outlook. When I opened the (created with old outlook) ica file in new outlook, it did open the event invite but in OLD outlook. Has anyone else experienced this? I wouldn´t want my meeting invitees be forced to launch old outlook when they click on my meeting ics file.

Thank you!!! I'm so frustrated they removed the drag drop easy feature from the new outlook. I hope Microsoft will upgrade the New Outlook to include this old feature. This work around is 10 times more cumbersome than before. but I really appreciate you posting it.

I agree, this missing feature is needed. I need to copy / paste an ics file to Jira or Slack or anywhere else outside of the Microsoft ecosystem and I can no longer do that basic thing. Same goes for email. I used to be able to right click on an email, hit copy, and paste it to my desktop (or anywhere in any app) and I can no longer do that.
