Conflict Message Error when trying to Open a Meeting Invite

The fix is now live worldwide. Outlook Dev says it went live last evening at 10:00 PM PST 7/11/24.

New meetings that you create now should not have conflicts. If you find otherwise, please let me know.

If you had meetings with conflicts those will not be automatically fixed. To clear those you can use Workaround 2 in the Known Issue article, Outlook shows conflict errors when updating or cancelling meetings - Microsoft Support. One thing to note is after you Clear Offline Items you can click Send/Receive to sync down a new copy of the calendar items from the service. Outlook will pull them down normally too but that can be done to expedite it.

If you have duplicate meetings caused by the conflicts use Workaround 3 in the Known Issue. Make sure to edit the calcheck.cfg file and set all rules to False except for DupGlobalObjectIDs. I will see if I can add this to the Known Issue, but you can use this calcheck.cfg that is ready to use CalCheckConfigFile. Replace the one that came in the folder with Calcheck with this one.

Is there any End-User action that needs to be done when the fix is deployed to production?

If you are seeing that in the Conflict Message dialog box this issue will be mitigated by doing Clear Offline Items for your calendar. It might be best to wait until tomorrow to do Clear Offline Items after the fix is out so not to get another conflict. In the meantime update any meetings that have the Conflict Message from OWA or Teams or New Outlook.

Clear Offline Items is Workaround 2 in the article, Outlook shows conflict errors when updating or cancelling meetings - Microsoft Support. This will remove everything from your local Outlook Desktop calendar. When you sync again it will pull down copies from the service that do not have the conflicts.
