I have been deleting unnecessary emails from my outlook client application, but recently observed that the emails are not being deleted from the server. My mailbox is 97% full and it is giving warning that I will not be able to send or receive emails once the mailbox is at 99%.

I am trying to delete emails, but they are keep coming back. I tried deleting emails in several ways, but the emails are not getting deleted.

Please help me in resolving this issue.

    Hi Ishaq,

Since mid-2023, Microsoft has gradually moved Outlook storage into OneDrive, reducing the capacity for personal stuff. This is the route cause of your problem. Apparently, they told everyone but I don't remember!

To disconnect OneDrive (best on a PC/Laptop), I downloaded all of my files/folders to my PC.

    Then, I did this:

Open OneDrive settings (select the OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon, then Settings.)

    Go to the Account tab.

    Select Unlink this PC.

Now, I backup to an external drive and I use Google Drive for my folders/files that I want to share between devices BUT that has to be done manually.

I backup my mobile devices to the manufacturer's cloud, in my case Samsung.

    Trust that this helps you.

    Hi Sean,

    Thanks for the reply.

It seems the issue I am facing is all to do with the OneDrive being full and causing an impact on my emails. How did you manage to disconnect the OneDrive?
