Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook on the web for business
I am running into this same issue. This even happens when I'm holding option+shift to select a word at a time. Terrible user experience.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I use the Outlook web app on MacOS, and selecting text word by word no longer works (shift + option + arrow on a Mac keyboard). This stopped working sometime this weekend. I tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari) and multiple Macs (Two different MBAs and one MB Mini). I tried it on a PC and it works fine. It seems that something broken on the web app for Mac users over the weekend.
This is a critical shortcut for things like copying and pasting or deleting. Anyone having the same problem and has an idea of what to do about it?

Sad news... as of yesterday (August 28), pressing and releasing the option key in the Outlook Mail web app (using Chrome on MacOS, no plugins/scripts running) has started to lose focus from the "compose" window. Expected behavior is nothing changes. What happens is these little black lettered "shortcut" buttons pop up:
Since June 12, emails have been blissfully bug-free. This issue with the option key is a small thing, but I hope it isn't a harbinger that the other bugs are coming back too.
Anyone else noticing this?
Definitely not using any scripts. I’ve never even attempted to use any.
Do you have any conflicting plugin or script still running? Can you double check?
No, using shift+command still kicks focus out of the message body. It's highly irritating and, as far as I can tell, the last part of the bugged behavior remaining.
