Selecting text no longer working properly in Outlook Web App on MacOS

I use the Outlook web app on MacOS, and selecting text word by word no longer works (shift + option + arrow on a Mac keyboard). This stopped working sometime this weekend. I tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari) and multiple Macs (Two different MBAs and one MB Mini). I tried it on a PC and it works fine. It seems that something broken on the web app for Mac users over the weekend.

This is a critical shortcut for things like copying and pasting or deleting. Anyone having the same problem and has an idea of what to do about it?

Thank you for working on fixing this! As of today's update (for me on Chrome/Brave, but not yet Safari) this crucial shortcut works again. Excellent!

All three of these commands now work intermittently for me - an improvement from three weeks ago, but I'm still experiencing weird bugs.

Sometimes the keystrokes work, and other times, pressing the cmd key triggers totally unexpected behavior in the browser. The unexpected behavior seems primarily hitched to the cmd key. For example:

    • Sometimes cmd+left/right arrows tabs me between different windows or messages in the web client
    • Sometimes cmd+delete (to delete a whole line) will open a window prompting me to delete the email draft or, in one case, the entire contents of my inbox

Has anyone else experienced this behavior since troubleshooting for this bug began?

Has it been fixed yet? Not working for me anyways, at least one of the main three text select shortcuts.

    • Select a single character to the left or right (Shift + left/right arrow): working
    • Select the rest of a whole row to the left or the right, and then the whole row above or below (Shift + Command + any arrow): working
    • Select the next "sentence fracture" (eg. the next whole word) to the left or right (Shift + Option + left/right arrow): not working

It’s not a bug, they just ignored standard Mac key combos, and it doesn’t affect Teams.

Interesting… I've yet to see this in Teams. Are you on 'new' Teams or 'classic'? Am I about to experience another new form of horror when I am forced to apply the next Teams update?

For what it's worth, this issue crops up regularly. The QScintilla text editor library has suffered from this on at least two occasions that I can think of. This is why good QAs can command a higher salary than some developers…
