Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hello
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.
It saddens me to hear that you’re having trouble with Microsoft Outlook. This issue can be caused by a variety of factors, including incorrect login credentials, outdated software, or a corrupted Outlook profile. Let me do my best to help. Just to set your expectations, we have limited tools to check your account, subscription, and service details in the community.
Let me ask you this:
- Can I find out which version and edition of Office is installed on your computer?
- You can open any Office app
- Go to File > accounts – on the right-hand side, you can see the product information
- May we know if you currently using Outlook classic or new outlook for windows?
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Remove your credentials from the Credentials Manager: Open the Control Panel and navigate to User Accounts > Credential Manager. Under Windows Credentials, locate any entries for Outlook and click Remove. Restart Outlook and enter your login credentials again.
- Enable the Remember Password option: Open Outlook and navigate to File > Account Settings > Account Settings. Select your email account and click Change. Check the box next to Remember password and click Next. Enter your password and click Finish.
- Disable the Always prompt for login option: Open Outlook and navigate to File > Account Settings > Account Settings. Select your email account and click Change. Click More Settings, then navigate to the Security tab. Uncheck the box next to Always prompt for login credentials and click OK.
- Create and use a new Outlook profile: Open the Control Panel and navigate to Mail > Show Profiles. Click Add and follow the prompts to create a new profile. Once created, select the new profile and click Set as default. Restart Outlook and enter your login credentials again.Overview of Outlook e-mail profiles - Microsoft Support
- Update your Outlook version: Make sure you have the latest version of Outlook installed. To check for updates, open Outlook and navigate to File > Office Account > Update Options. Click Update Now and follow the prompts.
- Launch Outlook in Safe Mode: Press and hold the CTRL key while clicking on the Outlook icon to launch it in Safe Mode. This will disable any add-ins that may be causing the issue. Open Outlook in safe mode - Microsoft Support
