Why does Microsoft Outlook keep asking for Password

Why does Microsoft Outlook keeps constantly asking for Password. I even had to change my password thinking it would help. It didn't. Even after I enter password, still continues prompting me to enter password. Just does not go away. And it is also affecting my account with Spectrum Roadrunner to perform other functions that I was able to do without having to enter a password. This problem just recently started and Spectrum can't help since it's a Microsoft issue causing the problem. Tried to get help by calling Microsoft by using the recommended website since I'm unable to get a live person to talk to, but the website Microsoft is directing to go for HELP wants to charge a Fee plus a monthly fee. We purchased Microsoft. Didn't use to have this issue

Such poor support from Microsoft on a fix for this! Really poor. So many people, including me and my family members, whom all forked out for a local Office client SW license are having this issue and there is NO FIX from Microsoft being offered. It was all working fine, then all of a sudden something MS has updated / changed has caused this issue to surface! And the best MS can offer is "to try a bunch of long and tedious changes, including a full re-install option" to try to remedy the problem. Very poor!

You can do so much better Microsoft. Why not do right by your customers and replicate the issue, find the root cause and issue a fix for all the users that have purchased the SW from you at significant expense?

    Regards, Angus

I'm running Outlook 2016. I've tried all of the so called fixes and nothing seems to work. All I can report is that the call for my hotmail account password only appears in the afternoon (ie BST)

I have tried every one of the actions you suggested and I am still getting these messages. My Outlook 2013 is up-to-date. I am getting no email messages and am not able to send any. It started a couple of weeks ago with maybe one message per day and has incr4eased steadily. Now it's a message about every 30 seconds. This seems to be a major flaw in Outlook that needs to be fixed. In the meantime, what can I do to get my emails back?

Correct. Microsoft is not going to "fix" the Outlook password demands because that alone will force all users of Outlook to abandon it and go towards the web version they offer. I don't condone this process, and I have tried everything else that was suggested. I have resigned myself to stop using Outlook even though I abhor the ploy Microsoft has resorted to in pushing me around. There are many things I could do with my Outlook version that I cannot do in the web version... I feel for you, but resistance is futile at this point (a Borg quote). Sorry.
