Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hi Johna,
I too have tried every fix I've been able to get my hands on, and nothing has fixed it so far. It has been caused by an update in the last year or so, I have Windows 11 Enterprise and Microsoft Office 2019 (connecting to on prem hosted Exchange - latest patch levels) - with all the non-optional updates installed. I have removed Office, re-installed, same issue. As a test I installed a new drive, did a fresh from scratch Windows 11 install, fresh profile, fresh Microsoft account on an alternate email address, fresh office, all updates - boom, same issue - 10 mins (roughly) and it asks for password.
I recently found a Windows 11 laptop that I hadn't used in over a year, I fired it up, and used Outlook all day without it asking me for a password. I then allowed it to install updates the next day - boom, same password issue as I was having with my desktop (Outlook works fine for 10 mins, then suddenly it asks for password - I have to enter the password between 1 and about 6 times in a row, and the issue goes away for another 10 mins). Recently I've just been closing Outlook and opening it again, it works for 10 mins which is good enough usually to read new emails and send some.
I have a Windows 10 machine running Office 2019 as well, this one has no issues at all.
If there was an alternative to Office which worked with Exchange I'd give it a go - I'm so frustrated with this issue.
I have yet to try Office 2021.
Cheers
Chris
