How do I block all emails ending with @jean-patrique.co.uk. So annoying - keep receiving them every 10 minutes if not often. In 2 days - 300 emails. Did try to make a email rule, but doesnt help. Any ideas?

EDIT: 16/12/2023 - a bug with the blocked and safe senders and domains lists was preventing the procedure below from working between 12th and 16th December 2023. This has now been fixed.

There is an easier solution:

  1. Log into Outlook in either the web browser or the windows Outlook app;
  2. Click on the 'cog' symbol towards the top right;
  3. Click on "Email";
  4. Click on "Junk email";
  5. Under "Blocked senders and domains" click "+Add";
  6. Type "jean-patrique.co.uk";
  7. Press 'Enter';
  8. Click "Save" at the bottom of the list.

You can check it has saved the domain by starting to type it into the search bar on the right and it should appear even before you have typed it out in full.

This way it does not matter what combination of characters that the scumbag puts in front of the '@', the spam will get caught by this domain. Even better, unlike rules, which only apply to the inbox, this applies equally to junk email, which is where I presume this spam is going, and the result is to block it completely so you won't see it at all - not even in deleted or recoverable items. This is a positive change from previously, where I believe it just ensured that blocked senders and domains went into the junk folder.

This particular gambling-obsessed scumbag changes their domain every so often - they were ******@emails.fenwick.co.uk then ******@xixvodka.com then @monsoon.co.uk then @e.newscientist.com, so you will probably need to enter another domain if the deluge resumes under another guise.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

TE

    At 12:08 the domain jean-patrique.co.uk was in my blocked list, I took a screenshot:

    At 13:43 I received an email from that domain, checked the blocked list and the domain is no longer listed:

    It keeps unblocking itself. This has happened multiple times, and yes I definitely followed the instructions exactly.

    Hi,

    That is odd. It could be that if you have loads of blocked senders that you have reached some arbitrary limit and it keeps removing the last entry even though it initially appears to accept it.

    What I would do is delete all the other @jean-patriques, as they are unlikely to work as the chances of another one coming in with that combination of wildcard letters ahead of the '@' symbol is minimal. Then add "jean-patrique.co.uk" again.

    I had a similar problem with safe senders, where I had to reduce them by removing safe emails with a shared domain and replacing them just with the domain, so that I had one domain rather than loads of individual addresses - the domain authorises them all.

    I hope that helps.

    Cheers,

    TE

    And make sure you are blocking it from the Junk Mail option.

    The one that worked for me was simply Jean-patrique.co.uk. If I put the @ in, it didn’t work.

    I’ve had no emails from them for three days now. Previously I was getting nearly 100 a day!
