Hi all, I am the System administrator. Recently we would like to tried a new outlook, but we need add the shared mailbox to user,
we tried to add account but it needs password, and the shared mailbox is no password, in classic outlook if administrator adds permission in Exchange, after a few minutes the mailbox will show in the left panel

I'm struggling to understand Microsoft's logic in releasing a major service that isn't functional and ignoring this specific issue for months.
Our organization is now rolling out Co-Pilot, which shockingly requires the use of 'New' Outlook. How do they expect enterprise organizations to operate? This is a messy, frustrating roll out.
Has anyone found nay solution for this ? ofc apart from using the old version
Looks like adding shared mailboxes as an account is scheduled for rollout in January 2025.

This is the main reason I avoid the new Outlook, apart from smaller inconveniences like drag-and-dropping files from a mail to a Windows folder just not working. It's hilariously tragic to see how they don't seem to have thought things through with this new version.
Fortunately for them the old version is getting gradually buggier so people will probably be bullied into the new version at some point.

There is a way to add the shared with me inbox to your favourites.
- Go to Favorites - Click on 3 dots and click Add favorite:
- Search for Inbox:
- Select the shared mailbox inbox you would like to add to your favorites
Hope this was helpful :)
Unfortunately, this doesn't allow you to add the actual mail inbox, just the root folder.
