I tried the new Outlook sind a week. So far it worked with my my 7 email accounts. I also could opening the settings window. But suddently since yesterday when I click on the settings the window is opening but empty. I only see the text "loading..." but nothing happens.

I tried to repair, reset and even uninstall and reinstall it again. Nothing helped. Even though the uninstalled warned me that all data are removed, after installing it again, all acounts were visible again... can I something delete the synced acounts in the cloud?`What can I do to be able to opening the settings again????

I have found a second workaround:

to delete all email accounts and old informations in the new outlook, I deleted the folder

    C:\Users*username*\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Olk

After I started the old Outlook once and switched from there to the new one. that way, I got a clean new outlook and could reconnect my accounts again and the settingspage is back too

I had the same issue of settings not loading. Microsoft's support gave me the solution below, which worked for me:

    • close Outlook
    • type "command prompt" on the Windows search bar
    • right-click on the "command prompt" app that shows up, choose "run as administrator"
    • within the command prompt, type olk.exe --clearLocalState, then hit enter
    • open Outlook

The steps above effectively removed all accounts I had in Outlook while keeping all my settings intact. So all I had to do was re-add the accounts and go on to use Outlook as before.

Note that in my case I was having the "settings not loading" problem due to having an account added to Outlook that I no longer had access to. Depending on the source of your problem, the solution above may or may not work.

Maybe I have a hint for the problem reason. I have several email accounts in Outlook. 2 exchange accounts and the others are IMAP.

For one exchange account I have a 2 faktor authentification. When I don't login to this account during Outlook (new) startup, I can't open the settings. Once I logged in this special account and then restart the new outlook and can access the inbox, then the settings page is opening without problems

Today the workaround stopped working for me :-( Since this morning I can't open the settings page again. I try it with the new profile but this time it doesn't works.... This is a really annoying problem with the new outlook.

I have now 2 test email accounts in my list. How can I remove these from the new outlook if the settingspage isn't opening???

When I try to open outlook in the browser, I get error 500...

    Hi Grit,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

Please accept our sincere welcome here at Community Support.

based on your problem description, it seems that the issue comes with the New Outlook setup. We have been receiving issues with the new outlook, since this is a newly released feature and we're still expecting unwanted errors or glitch.

I understand that you’re facing issues with opening settings in the “new” Outlook. Let’s try our best troubleshoot this issue together. If none of these works, you may consider using the Classic version as of the moment.

    1. Update Office Apps:
    2. Reset View Settings:
      • Sometimes, Outlook fails to open when it can’t load your view settings.
      • To reset view settings:
    3. Restart Outlook:
    4. Start Outlook in Safe Mode:
      • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
      • Type outlook.exe /safe and hit Enter.
      • This will start Outlook in safe mode without any add-ins.
      • If it opens successfully, the issue might be related to an add-in.
      • You can then disable or update add-ins as needed

    Hope this helps!

    Thank you,

    Ciarra BD.
