Issues with new outlook not marking emails as read or deleting from server when I delete them

In new outlook, I have mark emails as read as soon as they are opened. They initially show as read but the number of unread emails doesn't always reduce and if I select show all unread emails most of what I have read show as unread again. This is very frustrating as I then have to open all the emails again on my iphone to mark them as read. I also have an issue with deleting emails in New outlook as they still show as available on the server so do not delete on my other devices.

    Rebuild the outlook profile fixed the issue for me

    I was having the same issue while filtering for unread emails. I found there's a setting specific to that filtering mode in Settings >> Mail >> Message handling >> Mark as read: uncheck the checkbox labeled "In the unread filter: Always keep items unread unless I explicitly mark them as read". Why would someone use that feature or why should this be the default setting escapes me.

    I had the same problem along with nothing deleting. I set the default email to my gmail account and that seems to have fixed the problem.

    New Outlook will not even load now so I can check for possible updates.

    System busy wheel then a "This app can't run on your PC" message when I close Mail and Calendar.

    I have to do a restart to get Mail and Calendar to reload. Kind of nervous now to keep trying.

    I assume someone has gotten the New Outlook to work properly.
