Switched back to original outlook and contact list still missing. This is unacceptable; we are old age pensioners and not totally tech savvy. The new outlook binned our contact list and now after switching back the list is still missing. How do we get it back - in simple language please.
Dear Jean Holder1,
A few weeks ago, I, LostInSpace88, provided a detailed step-by-step reply (with pictures) to this question. You may have missed it, as it's now toward the bottom of page 4 of this thread (or click this link). I'm assuming you're using a computer desktop or laptop. Admittedly, I have no idea how the screens or functions are arranged on a mobile phone.
As I explained there, try checking if Mail and/or Outlook apps have access to your Contacts, which are stored or backed up somewhere on Microsoft's servers--as long as your Microsoft Hotmail/Outlook account remains active.
If that fails, you may have to endure the dreaded call to Customer Support via the Contact Us link below in the footer (or click here)--you will have to log in again and skip the FAQ suggestions. They should be able to recover your Contacts from the server and at least provide the new Outlook with access.
Btw, I'm also a pensioner, former IT consultant, and a (long-suffering) user of Microsoft Hotmail/Mail/Outlook for 25 years, probably longer than many of the Microsoft Outlook Teams (development and support) have even been alive!🤦♀️
Hope this helps & good luck*!🤞*
Cheers,
LostInSpace88
P.S., I also managed to uninstall the New Mail/Outlook App from my computer😉--which should leave me in peace🙏 until the next (overdue monthly?) Windows upgrade, when, and if, I shall try again to dislodge it. My Calendar, Contacts, and old (offline-capable!) Mail are all running smoothly... for now.😟
