'New Outlook' - how to save sent emails in a different folder instead of Sent folder

In the new Outlook, the ability to assign sent emails to specific subfolders before sending them isn't a built-in feature. However, you can try using rules to move sent emails to the desired subfolders automatically after sending.

Click on the gear icon in the top right corner to open the settings menu, then click on View all Outlook settings at the bottom of the panel.

In the settings menu, navigate to the "Mail" tab and then select Rules under the "Mail" section.

Click on Add new rule.

In the Add a new rule window, you can specify the condition for the rule. For example, you may choose "Apply to all messages" to apply the rule to all sent emails.

After specifying the condition, select Move to as the action.

Click on Select folder to choose the subfolder you want to move the sent messages to, then click OK.

Finally, click Save to create the rule.

Thank you so much for your response, but rules will not work in this scenario as our project are always changing. I do hope they bring back the option for 'Save Sent Items To..".

Go to Help > Feedback in the app. Select from the options in the pane to provide your feedback. Click Submit when you’re ready to send.

same here. rolling back to previous Outlook version as missing "the save sent" button is a big lack for my workflow.

I have to agree with the other users, this is a massive backwards step in function.

Wish I had not updated to the 'new and improved' version.
