'New Outlook' - how to save sent emails in a different folder instead of Sent folder

up. is this already added in New Outlook as I still dont see it. this is must have function and only reason Im still using Old version of Outlook.

Actually, I think this started as not being able to choose where sent items go. In "old" outlook, you were able to go the mail options and uncheck the "save copies of messages in the sent items folder"

You could then create a rule to put the sent mail where you wanted it (mine was to my inbox):

This only worked when you were running on the client side (not in OWA) and if you weren't in client side it would put them in the SENT folder.

In "new" outlook, there isn't a way to do anything with sent mail. At least not in the version I'm using. My old rule did not transfer over and all of the new rules appear to be VERY limited in what you can do.

I did create a quick step to move stuff to inbox (where i want everything), but that's manual and it sucks. Especially since I use conversation mode (and you I haven't seen anything that lets me use different views for different folders ("old" outlook had that too).

Eventually we'll all be forced to move to "new" and over time will forget all the niceties of "old" and just muddle through. ARGH!!!!!!

If you start a new message, then click on the "Options" tab in the new message, there is a "Save Sent Item To" drop down menu, which would allow you to save the sent item where you choose. But it's clunky if you have a large set of folders and subfolders to navigate through.

Nope. On my side "Save Sent Item To" isn't in the Option tab.

We do too. This won't help me either :(

Dave, you can roll back to the “good old version” of Outlook. It might require making changes to the registry. Hopefully you have admin rights on your machine. I also cannot do without folders.
