I cannot spellcheck in the new outlook 20231215008.08 . The editor is greyed out in the edit options. I have edge as my default browser and the MS editor ext in edge. Keep in mind I am talking about the New Outlook APP, but I am unsure if it feeds off od edge settings for the app.

In case anyone here is in government (GCC license), Editor isn't available yet:
Microsoft Editor is not available in new Outlook for GCC tenants
We are in the GCC license and found a workaround.
In the new Outlook, go under Settings > Mail > Compose and Reply > Pop-Out Settings. Check to select the "Pop-out to a new window" setting.
It must be a bug, because if you start an email in a new pop-up, the spell check works. If you compose an email inline, the spell check doesn't work.
Hope someone will find this useful.
Thank you, this was my issue.
You can LEFT click on the red underlined word and you will have spell check.
Actually, very simple.
