Outlook 2016 App Search Bar

One of my clients woke to a new search bar in Outlook 2016 right next to the regular search bar, the new search bar is called "App Search", it is bigger than the regular search bar, pushes it aside to the point that it is too small to work with, and the App Search bar itself doesn't work at all, you can click it but nothing happens, I have tried to find a way to remove it but even uninstalling and reinstalling the whole office suite the App Search bar still remains, she has two computers but only one is affected by it.

I would like some help with it, or at least make a notice of it so Microsoft can fix this bug.

    Hi we have also issues with App Search field in outlooks. Three companies are reporting that more less today it is displaying in their outlooks and is not useful, no options to turn off/hide. All users want to switch it off.

    Would you be so kind and not turn on by defautl changes in UI next time and even IF then please provide option "OFF".

    At now please provide solution to manage this "feature" .

    The App Search box showed up in Outlook for me when I updated Office 2016 from

    2312 17126.20132 to 2401 17231.20182

    I did this on 01/30/24

    This is getting so annoying. I woke up today to work on my computer and this
    APP search bar on my Outlook interface is taking up so much space. I can't use
    the regular search bar. What's gives? Anybody have a solution?

    Relying to my own post, as now my W11 laptop has acquired the dreaded app search box too, so it's still an 'update' being rolled out...

    Nothing showing in update history, so presume it's some hidden minor update rolled out automatically to office apps?

    You can try to repair your OutlookRepair an Office application, and the steps below:

    While it won’t completely remove the “App Search” bar, you can try the following workaround to make it less intrusive:

    • Go to File > Options > Advanced.
      • Look for the checkbox titled “Show Apps in Outlook”.
      • Uncheck this option and click OK.
      • Outlook will require a restart to apply the change.
      • After the restart, the “Apps Bar” should return to its previous location below the folders.
