Using older versions of Outlook for Mac in business environments
I had trouble in both New and old, and this method solved my problems. I may add I did it twice. One with a restart and then once again the next day.

Hello,
I have the same problem and I'm following your troubleshooting steps, the first one is checked. However, when I go for "search" in "preferences" I can't find "search".
(I tried to enclose a screenshot but when using "Insert image it just returns "Upload failed"...)
What to do? //Thomas
Hi, thanks for the reply. On point 2, you say go to Outlook > Preferences > Search > Indexing > Rebuild, but on my system its Outlook > Settings > Search > and then there are limited options (see screen shot)![Image](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/ceada97e-6a5a-4d64-befb-8d20b6223aef?platform=QnA
Hello, Im running outlook 16.79 on Sonoma. There is no search option after Outlook<Settings. Please advise.
Actually, I'm unable to go back as it seems if I do I'll lose most of my emails over the past month. New saved folders are gone, emails gone and more.
What a total disaster this "New Outlook" truly is.
Ok. Got it.
That's another reason why I won't switch to the "New Outlook" for a while.
