The New Outlook does not appear to have Field Chooser to customize Outlook Folders

Someone posted how you can change the view bar. OK, that is ok. But for instance, you choose received by date, or from and still you cannot collapse it compiled under one line.

I have never used subfolders. I was told by an expert, that it slows down Outlook, So I started using Categories'. In the new outlook, I cannot add categories in the view bar on top of my emails. SO not collapse possibilities as well. This I hop I find back email relating to certain topics.

I have send my feedback to MS, when I changed back to the old version.
I will never get an answer and also on this forum, they will not respond at all.

We just have to wait until the switch back button does not exist anymore.

It completely sucks

This definitely needs to be fixed - having additional columns is a huge efficiency measure, in sorting and filtering and in scanning for certain messages.

The solution offered does not work for me. I need to be able to select on categories or any other item I wish.

Could not find any of the options in the article which is from 2017. The new version has a column view which is absolutely locked and no conceivable way to change. The ability to organise by items with attachments, size, type all seem to have vanished.

Not sure if this has worked for anyone with the latest (as of Jun 2024) client (not web client).

Finally found the solution. Under views we edited his view and unchecked "User compact layout in width smaller than 125 characters" and this put the header row back in. This was checked by default. I am not sure if this is something that has changed or just some oddity. (see print screen below) Regardless this allowed the header row to come back.
