Outlook crashes when sending emails after Microsoft Update

Hi,

I had 2 updates today from Microsoft for Microsoft Office. I am using Windows 11.

"Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 - en-us" and "Microsoft 365 - en-us".

Versions for both are 16.0.17029.20028

This updated my Outlook client as well - I know this because it changed to a new menu bar. I changed this back to the classic outlook menu bar.

After this, my Outlook client crashes whenever I try to send an email.

I cannot revert to the new menu bar in case this is causing the issue as there is no option to do this.

I am still receiving emails.

    I have the same issue with live.com and have tried all the useless "fixes". Except now it wants to switch me from 2019 to 365. Ugh! And I have to dig up my Product Key or it will shut down in 5 days. Please fix this!!!

    I would just like to add to this thread. I have the same issue, which I noticed only a few days ago.

    Running Outlook as part of Office Professional Plus 2019

    Version 2311 (Build 17029.20028)

    On Windows 10

    Receive Emails OK

    When I hit SEND on new emails or replies to emails - Outlook crashes and restarts. Email is lost.

    Web based and Mobile app work fine.

    I am having the exact same issue where Outlook crashes when I hit send. It has been happening since "Outlook (new)" suddenly installed itself on my computer a couple of weeks ago. That is in addition to the original Outlook application on my computer (which is currently at Version 2311 (Build 17029.20028 Click-To-Run)). I have tried pretty much everything to resolve, but have so far been unsuccessful. I suspect that it is just a bug in that build.. Looking for any other suggestions.

    Hi Thanks for the well writen support above, I tried all of the recommended steps but Outlook still chrashes when I hit the send button. For your advice on the profiles, I didn't delete the old profile (unsure of consequences). I did create a new profile but do i need to select that profile when launching outlook? For the MS support and recovery tool, I get this message: "

    This isn't supported for your office environment." "...The solution you picked doesn't support your type of account:"

    Any other suggestions - I started occuring right after applying MS' most recent update.

    I have the same, on Microsoft® Outlook® 2019 MSO (Version 2311 Build 16.0.17029.20028) 64-bit .
    Tried safe mode, still outlook crashes when sending mail.
    Tried repairing OST file, outlook still crashes when sending mail.

    I have one Microsoft Exchange account which crashes when sending, and one pop3 account which works fine in the same outlook client.
