Why am I suddenly getting so many spam emails on outlook.com from an apparent AI bot?

In the past 2 hours alone, I have received at least a dozen spam emails written in random words. For example “isnt a said tone Then it level in very he possible 54 u443 hkother” They are coming from apparent one-off gmail, live, hotmail, and other accounts. And the so-called junk filters are catching NONE of them. I get most of my email on mobile devices, so I’m not using the desktop Outlook app, and thus I can’t adjust the level of spam filtering. To be honest, I pay for Microsoft 365 and I find it ridiculous that (A) the default outlook.com spam filters are not catching them, and (B) I can’t adjust the spam filter so it does catch them. Microsoft, quit dinking around with AI on Bing and put it to work in your own spam filters!

    Also thinking about quitting Outlook after 30 yrs. Husband is also on Outlook but not having the problem.

    Your email address is leaked to spammers. Your husband's isn't.

    Don't think. Just do it. Keep in mind that no email providers can protect your mailbox when your address is leaked to spammers.

    This past weekend I did not review my emails. Over the two-day weekend, I received 399 JUNK EMAILS! This does not happen with my GMAIL account. I have tried increasing the spam filter, creating rules using keywords, reporting phishing, and blocking but nothing has worked.

    As the previous user said, FIND A WAY TO ASSIST PAYING CUSTOMERS, please!

    This has been going on for me for over a month. Anywhere from 20-40 messages, with crazy words, flagged, and so obviously spam that my grandmother can recognize them as such. And every single one of them is in my inbox. Worse yet, I have an alias email that has its own inbox, and the exact same messages are going in there too. I alternate marking them as phishing and junk, but to no avail. Microsoft's spam filter has become the most useless piece of technology I have ever dealt with. By Microsoft's own admission to me when troubleshooting my LEGIT email going to junk, they prioritize their worthless spam filter over ANY rules, whitelists, or any other control mechanisms you have available. I have to tell them everyday that one of my newsletters is not spam, and I even have a rule to direct it. Goes to Junk anyway.

    I have just set up a new email service with another company and I am moving away from Microsoft. I'm even creating a new one simply for my Office subscription (because I have to have Excel). I'm done.
