In the past 2 hours alone, I have received at least a dozen spam emails written in random words. For example “isnt a said tone Then it level in very he possible 54 u443 hkother” They are coming from apparent one-off gmail, live, hotmail, and other accounts. And the so-called junk filters are catching NONE of them. I get most of my email on mobile devices, so I’m not using the desktop Outlook app, and thus I can’t adjust the level of spam filtering. To be honest, I pay for Microsoft 365 and I find it ridiculous that (A) the default outlook.com spam filters are not catching them, and (B) I can’t adjust the spam filter so it does catch them. Microsoft, quit dinking around with AI on Bing and put it to work in your own spam filters!

I also have the same problem. The strange thing is there is no sender on those junk/phishing emails, if you want to reply those emails, the outlook can't read out the sender's email address.

The only way round this is to stop using Outlook. I've had the same problem all year. I forward the spam on to Microsoft and our government's National Cyber Security service here in the UK and block each email individually. Doesn't work. On checking the email domain name (which belongs to Microsoft) with the NCS service it states the DMARC policy (anti-spoofing) is set to "none" and MTA-STS (Mail Transfer Agent Strict Transport Security) is not configured. Shocking. I only discovered this today - a major failure by Microsoft.

It's thankfully FREE, so for me I'll live with it, and I don't honestly feel that "anyone" who has been using Outlook.com FREE service or any FREE service has the right to complain, yet the ones who pay do, can and probably will, but it doesn't mean it will change or fix anything ASAP.
Fortunately for me every single phishing, spam or junk mail goes right into the junk folder and none of them thankfully make it to my MS Outlook software and I honestly don't know why, as I see that many unfortunately get them in their inbox.
